Websites for Roofers, Built for Storm Season

A homeowner with a brown stain spreading across the ceiling doesn't browse. They search roof leak repair near me on their phone, open three or four roofer sites, and call the one that looks local, real and easy to reach. A website for roofers has two jobs: make that first call easy, then back it up with proof when the homeowner compares bids.

Below: the pages, the storm plan, the photos that settle a replacement, and the Google and Facebook side.

Build the site around the jobs that pay

Replacements are the big tickets, but repairs, leaks and storm checks are usually the first calls. Your site has to serve both. Give each job its own page: roof repair, roof replacement, storm and hail damage, gutters, inspections and emergency tarping. Someone who searches hail damage roof inspection should land on a page about exactly that, not on a homepage that lists everything in one paragraph.

Each page answers what people want to know before they call: what the job involves, what you install (asphalt shingle, metal, flat roofs), how inspection day works, and how long the crew is usually on site. Put a tap-to-call number and a short quote form on every page.

Be the local roofer when the storm hits

After hail or a big wind, every roofer in the county works the same streets, and out-of-town crews follow the storm. Homeowners know it. What sets you apart is proof that you're local and will still answer the phone when the warranty matters: your office address if customers can visit it, roofs you finished in their neighborhood, and a plain page on how you work with insurance claims (inspection, photos for the adjuster, the scope, the build).

Keep a storm page ready before you need it, so after a storm you only add the date and the areas you're inspecting.

The photos and proof that close a replacement

  • Before and after from the same angle, from the street or a drone, with the town named.
  • Tear-off photos: rotted decking you replaced, underlayment, flashing and vents. Homeowners never see this part, and it's the part that proves the work.
  • Cleanup: tarps over the plants, the magnet sweep, a clean driveway.
  • Warranty in plain words: what the shingle maker covers and what your workmanship warranty covers, exactly as your paperwork says.
  • License and insurance: if your state or city licenses roofers, show the number. Say you carry liability and workers' comp and send the certificate on request.
  • Reviews that name the job: a review that mentions a replacement after a hailstorm tells the next homeowner more than stars alone. Ask every customer, the same way (how to get more Google reviews).

Google Business Profile and town pages for roofers

Your primary category should be Roofing contractor. Add a secondary category only for work you sell on its own: Gutter service if people hire you just for gutters, Siding contractor if you run real siding jobs. Repairs, replacements and inspections belong in the Services list. Keep the business name exactly as it appears on your trucks and paperwork; Google's guidelines don't permit extra words like a city or a service in the name. The full setup is in our Google Business Profile guide for contractors.

Town pages help only when each one has something real: jobs you finished there, the roof types common in those neighborhoods, HOA rules you've worked with. A stack of copies with only the town name swapped is what Google's spam policies call doorway pages.

Facebook and Instagram ads for roofers

Meta's Housing special ad category covers ads for housing repairs, so roofing ads get declared as Housing. That means all ages from 18 to 65+, all genders, no ZIP-code targeting, no lookalike audiences, and a location radius of at least 15 miles. For most roofers that radius matches the area they already drive to. Inside those rules, the ads that make sense show your own work to everyone in your area: a before-and-after, a short drone clip, your crew on a roof in a town people recognize. How we set these up: Facebook ads for contractors.

Google Business Profile

Primary category: Roofing contractor. Also worth adding where they fit your work: Gutter service, Siding contractor, Skylight contractor.

Facebook & Instagram ads

Meta has counted ads about housing repairs under its Housing special ad category, which means ages 18-65+, all genders and at least a 15-mile radius. We answer Meta's category check for your trade when we set up the campaign, so your ads aren't paused for it.

Questions

The profile gets you found; the website gets you chosen. A homeowner comparing replacement bids wants to see your past roofs, your warranty and who runs the company, and a profile has little room for that.
