Websites for Electricians: Licensed, Local, Easy to Call
Homeowners know electrical work isn't a weekend project, and they know a bad job can start a fire. So they look past the price for an electrician who seems licensed, careful and local. Your website has to show that in the first few seconds, then make the call easy.
This page covers what a website for electricians needs: pages for today's bigger jobs (panels, EV chargers, generators), the proof that matters, and how Google and Facebook work for an electrical contractor.

Pages for the jobs homeowners search
Electrical searches are specific. People type panel upgrade, EV charger installation near me, whole house generator installation, outlet not working, recessed lighting installer. Give repairs, panel upgrades, lighting, EV chargers, generators and inspections each a page that explains the job, when it needs a permit, what you check first and what the homeowner should have ready.
Panel upgrades sit behind many other jobs: an EV charger, a heat pump, a hot tub or a kitchen remodel can all need more capacity. Link those pages to your panel page so the homeowner sees the whole picture before your first visit.
EV chargers and generators: jobs with a season
EV charger installs follow car purchases. The US Department of Energy's charging guidance tells installers to get a permit from the local building authority before installing charging equipment, and to follow local and state codes. Say on your charger page that you pull the permit and handle the inspection; it separates you from someone who will just run a wire.
Generators sell around storms: hurricane season on the coasts, ice storms up north, long outages anywhere. Have the generator page ready with what you install (inlets and transfer switches, standby units), the fuel options and how sizing works. When an outage hits your area, update that page and your Google profile the same day.
Proof that your work is safe
- License number, master or contractor license as your state issues it, written out so it can be checked online.
- Permits and inspections: say you pull them and that your work gets inspected.
- Panel photos: a clean, labeled panel is the electrician's version of a before-and-after. Show the old one next to yours.
- Insurance: liability and workers' comp, with the certificate sent on request.
- The people: the electricians who come to the house, by first name, in uniform.
- Reviews that describe the job: a panel swap or a charger in the garage, named in the review, says more than stars. Hand every customer your review link at the end of the job (how to get more Google reviews).
Google Business Profile for electricians
Primary category: Electrician. Add Electrical installation service, Lighting contractor or Electric vehicle charging station contractor only if you sell that work as its own job. Generators, panel upgrades and inspections go in your Services list. Most electricians drive to the customer; if customers don't come to your address, Google's guidelines say to hide it and set a service area. Keep the profile name exactly as your license and trucks show it. See Google Business Profile for contractors for the full checklist.
Facebook and Instagram ads for electricians
Electrical repairs and upgrades are work on people's homes, and Meta's Housing special ad category covers housing repairs, so we run electrical ads under it. You can't target by ZIP code, age or gender, and the area must be at least a 15-mile radius. The ads that make sense inside those rules are specific: an EV charger installed in a real garage, a generator ready before storm season, a panel before and after. Commercial work (offices, storefronts) gets its own page on the site, written for property managers. More in Facebook ads for contractors.

The electrical services we put on your site
Each service gets its own page, written around your work and your towns.
Primary category: Electrician. Also worth adding where they fit your work: Electrical installation service, Lighting contractor, Electric vehicle charging station contractor.
Meta has counted ads about housing repairs under its Housing special ad category, which means ages 18-65+, all genders and at least a 15-mile radius. We answer Meta's category check for your trade when we set up the campaign, so your ads aren't paused for it.
Questions
Yes, on separate pages. Homeowners want to see houses; a property manager wants to see storefronts and offices. Give commercial work its own page with the kinds of buildings you wire, and keep the homepage pointed at your main business.
Distance is one of the three things Google weighs for local results, so you'll show up most near your base. Pages for nearby towns help when they're real: jobs you've done there, the age of the housing, the utility you coordinate with. Copy-paste town pages break Google's spam policies. The details are in local SEO for contractors.
A starting price can work if you define what it includes (distance from the panel, the circuit, the permit) and what changes it. Some homes need a panel upgrade first, so say that too.
Finished panels, chargers on garage walls, generators on their pads, lighting at night, your team and trucks. Sharp phone photos are fine. No stock photos of other people's work.
