Websites for HVAC Companies, Ready Before the Rush
HVAC demand comes in waves. The first heat wave fills your phone with AC not cooling calls, the first cold snap does the same for furnaces and heat pumps, and the months in between are when you sell tune-ups and plan replacements. A website for an HVAC company has to work in both modes: a fast repair page on the hottest day of the year, and a patient sales page when a family is choosing a new system.
Here is what that looks like page by page, plus the certifications to show, the Google categories to pick and the ad rule to know before you mention financing.

Two kinds of visitors, two kinds of pages
The no-cool or no-heat visitor wants a number and a time: tap-to-call at the top, your hours, your service area, and a short form for when they can't talk. The replacement shopper reads: what size system fits the house, heat pump or furnace, what changes with a new install (ductwork, thermostat, electrical), and how long the install takes.
Give AC repair, heating repair, new systems, maintenance plans, ductwork and thermostats their own pages so every search lands on an answer: AC repair near me, furnace repair plus the town, heat pump installation, ductless mini split installer.
Get ready before the season, not during it
The week of the first heat wave is too late to fix your website. Set up the season's pages ahead of time: an AC repair page with what to check before calling (thermostat setting, breaker, filter), a tune-up page, and a homepage banner you can switch between cooling and heating. Do the same for heating before fall turns cold.
The shoulder months are for maintenance plans. A plan page that says exactly what a visit includes fills the slow weeks, and members already have your number when their system quits.
Show the credentials people ask about
- EPA Section 608 certification: the federal certification for technicians who work on refrigerant systems. Say your techs hold it.
- State or local HVAC license, where your state licenses the trade, written out so it can be checked.
- Permits on replacements: say you pull them and schedule the inspection.
- Equipment and warranties: the brands you install and how their warranties work, in the manufacturers' own terms.
- Real install photos: clean line sets, a level pad, sealed duct connections, the old unit hauled away. They show the care a brochure picture can't.
Keep financing out of your ads
Many HVAC companies offer financing on new systems. Let the lender's own paperwork carry those terms, and keep payment amounts out of your Facebook and Instagram ads. An ad with a monthly payment is advertising credit: Meta treats financial products and services as a special ad category of its own, and under the Truth in Lending Act's Regulation Z, an ad that states a payment amount or a number of payments must also state the APR and the repayment terms.
Ads about fast repairs, tune-ups and comfort stay simple. They run under the Housing category that HVAC repair already falls into: all ages and genders, no ZIP-code targeting, and a radius of at least 15 miles. The ad rules in full: Facebook ads for contractors.
Google Business Profile for HVAC
Primary category: HVAC contractor. Secondary categories that match real work: Air conditioning contractor, Heating contractor, Air conditioning repair service, Furnace repair service, and Air duct cleaning service only if you sell duct cleaning as a job of its own. Google asks for as few categories as possible, so skip any you don't sell. Fill in your services, keep seasonal hours current, and add photos of real installs. Google weighs relevance, distance and prominence for local results, and reviews feed prominence. Our Google Business Profile guide covers the rest.

The heating & air services we put on your site
Each service gets its own page, written around your work and your towns.
Primary category: HVAC contractor. Also worth adding where they fit your work: Air conditioning contractor, Heating contractor, Air conditioning repair service, Furnace repair service, Air duct cleaning service.
Meta has counted ads about housing repairs under its Housing special ad category, which means ages 18-65+, all genders and at least a 15-mile radius. We answer Meta's category check for your trade when we set up the campaign, so your ads aren't paused for it.
Questions
Show what you can stand behind: your diagnostic or trip fee, your tune-up price, what a maintenance plan includes. New systems depend on the house, so explain what drives the price instead of posting one number.
It changes the ad. Meta treats financial products and services as a special ad category, and Regulation Z requires the APR and repayment terms once an ad states a payment amount. That's why the ads we run talk about repairs, tune-ups and comfort, not monthly payments.
Yes, if you install both. People search for them differently and ask different questions (heat pumps in a cold snap, gas or electric furnaces), and a page that answers one question well is easier for both homeowners and Google to match to the search.
Ahead of the season more than during it: tune-ups and maintenance plans in spring and early fall, repair reminders as the first heat wave or cold snap arrives. We shift the $100 monthly budget with your season and show you each month what it brought.
